We care for our products
At Westwing, sustainability begins long before a product reaches our customersā homes. It starts with the materials we choose, how products are developed and designed, and the packaging that protects them. Across the value chain, we integrate responsible material sourcing, durability, circular design principles, repair and refurbishment, and packaging improvements.

Creating products that last starts at the design stage. For the Westwing Collection, this means selecting materials that support long-term performance, applying design solutions that enhance durability and resource efficiency, and integrating innovations to reduce material use and extend product lifespans. Over a productās lifetime, we support longevity through long-term warranty coverage and our repair, refurbishment, and responsible resale programme, ensuring products remain in use for longer. This reflects our focus on durability and longevity as the primary levers for reducing resource use and environmental impact, particularly for furniture and long-lasting homeware.
Responsible Material Sourcing
Increasing the share of materials that meet defined environmental and social criteria in our products is a priority. We continuously refine our material sourcing guidelines to align with recognised standards and developments in industry practices.
We use materials certified according to recognised third-party standards, including Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) for organic textiles, FSCĀ® and PEFCĀ® for wood, and standards such as the Leather Working Group, Responsible Wool Standard and Downpass for animal-derived materials.
We are also a member of Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), which supports improved practices in cotton production through a mass balance system.

Use more than 90% certified responsibly sourced wood by 2026
Use more than 90% certified responsibly sourced cotton by 2026

Packaging With Purpose
Protecting our products during shipping and ensuring safe delivery is a priority. We are working to improve our packaging by increasing the use of recyclable materials and establishing systems to measure key packaging indicators, such as material composition and recyclability.
Key requirements are set out in our Packaging Guidelines, which define criteria for material selection, recyclability, and packaging design across our business. The aim of the guidelines is to ensure that our packaging is minimal, recyclable and increasing made of recycled materials.
Over the coming years, we will continue to collaborate with suppliers to improve packaging design, track defined indicators, and implement targeted improvements.
Our Targets
Reduce the amount of plastic packaging per item shipped by 40% by 2027
Reduce the amount of single-use plastic packaging by 100%
Reuse, recover, or recycle more than 90% of packaging waste generated by 2027
Our Achievements
99% share of paper used in packaging with 100% recycled content (logistics centre)
