Meet the Tech Team

Westwing is a place for people who really want to make a difference. It’s important to have a clear vision & sound long-term strategy, but success ultimately comes from great execution. Each team contributes to our success, bringing their own unique piece of the puzzle.

Today, we are introducing the Tech team:

The Westwing Tech team is driven by a passion for building the digital foundation that powers our company. To achieve this, our experts work in specialised units to foster innovation across every department. Together, they bridge the gap between a seamless frontend customer journey and a high-performance IT infrastructure for the entire #TeamWestwing.

But it’s about more than just maintaining systems. It is about pushing beyond technical boundaries and creating a premium digital environment that brings our vision of ‘Live Beautiful’ to life.

We asked several team members what they love about their job:

Christian Souza Valentin (Principal Software Engineering): “I joined Westwing in 2019 and grew from a Software Engineer into a Principal role. Today, I support the team with architecting new features, prototyping technologies like the latest AI features and ensuring our workflow stays fast and secure. What makes working here so exciting is the scale: many of our changes are visible to more than 1 million users on our website and apps together in a single day. It’s a lot of responsibility, but our open and collaborative spirit ensures we get things done together.”

Kamila Kot (Software Engineering): “I joined Westwing in June 2022, and my daily work is a mix of coding new features, tackling fixes, and experimenting with new ideas. I am also deeply involved in the collaborative side of the process: discussing solutions, reviewing implementations, and specifying new projects. My team is full of people who truly care about the quality of their work. It is very rewarding to be at a company where everyone genuinely cares about the joy our products bring to our customers.”

Saeed Falsafin (Principal Software Engineer): “Since joining Westwing in September 2022, I have focused on optimising the technical backbone of our supply chain - specifically our OMS, WMS, and supplier communication systems - to ensure peak efficiency from order to delivery. Beyond managing these core operations, I lead and mentor a talented team of developers, fostering a supportive culture dedicated to technical excellence. Together, we drive the collective innovation necessary to uphold Westwing’s reputation and provide our customers with a seamless “Beautiful Living” experience.”
