We display recognized third-party certifications and standards on our website. This information is provided to help customers identify products that have been manufactured in accordance with specific social and environmental criteria.

How products qualify

If a product holds a certification, our partners must provide sufficient documentation to support the claim. Only when sufficient documentation is available do we display this information to our customers. The certifications that a product holds is displayed in a separate section on our website named “Certifications” and can be found in the product details area.

Accepted Certifications

We accept certifications at either the material level or the product level.

Material-level certifications

These focus exclusively on the raw materials or ingredients within a product (such as wood, cotton, or leather). They verify that a specific component has been sourced and processed according to the requirements of that individual standard.

These apply to the finished, fully assembled item as a whole. Depending on the standard, these certifications evaluate the final product against criteria such as manufacturing labor conditions, chemical safety, or overall lifecycle impact.

Other claims accepted

In addition to formal certifications, we display a strict and limited selection of other product and material claims. To prevent generalised or open-ended environmental statements, we only permit the following three specific, quantified claims:

  • Recycled Content: Quantified statements specifying the exact percentage of recycled materials used in the product (e.g., Contains 50% recycled polyester).

  • Reclaimed Content: Quantified statements specifying the exact percentage of reclaimed or salvaged components utilised (e.g., Made with 80% reclaimed oak).

  • Durability and Longevity: Specific product lifespan claims that are officially backed by the EU Harmonised Label. We only display these longevity claims if the manufacturer provides this standardized durability guarantee for a period exceeding two years.

No other non-certified claims are permitted. These three approved claims are only published once our partners provide the substantial, verified documentation required to back them up.
