From Strategy to Recognition: Westwing Achieves ISS ESG Prime Status
31 July 2026
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of how companies are assessed – not only by customers or employees, but also by investors, business partners and financial markets. This shift is reflected in Westwing’s Sustainability Strategy 2030, which sets targets across products, planet, and people, and is increasingly visible in the company’s performance in independent ESG rating assessments.
Westwing treats ESG ratings as a tool for tracking sustainability progress over time and communicating it transparently to stakeholders. The company is selective about which ratings it actively engages with, prioritizing the ones that best reflect the evolving information needs of its investors and partners. Westwing achieved Prime Status in the 2026 ISS ESG Corporate Rating, scoring a B- and ranking in the first decile of its industry — a clear step up from its C rating in 2024.
What Prime Status Means
ISS ESG assesses companies’ sustainability performance across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and compares them directly against the strongest companies in their industry, not just against how they did last year. Companies that reach a high enough score are awarded Prime Status, a label given only to the top performers in their sector.
Reaching the first decile means Westwing now ranks among the best-rated companies in its industry, on an absolute scale that resets and gets tougher every year. That makes this a harder bar to clear than simply improving on last year’s own score.
Recognition Built on Long-Term Progress
The improvement reflects a strategy already in motion rather than a single-year effort. Sustainability is embedded in Westwing’s Sustainability Strategy 2030 —a blueprint that sets measurable targets across product, planet and people. Some of the initiatives driving this progress include:
Products
Promoting responsible sourcing through independent social audits of non-EU suppliers, increasing the use of certified materials (FSC®, GOTS and GRS), and reducing packaging impacts by transitioning shipping boxes to made from 100% recycled cardboard.
Planet
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain, in line with science-based targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), while advancing the use of renewable energy.
People
Strengthening responsible business practices through supplier capacity-building programs delivered via the amfori Academy, covering social and environmental topics.

Recognition from Multiple Benchmarks
The ISS ESG improvement is echoed by other independent ratings. In the 2025 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), Westwing scored 55⁄100 —up from 42⁄100 in 2024, placing the company in the 94th percentile of the RTS Retailing industry.
Two independent rating agencies, two consecutive years of improvement.
Together, these ratings provide independent confirmation that Westwing’s sustainability strategy is translating into measurable performance.
What Comes Next
The improved ratings reflect momentum that Westwing intends to build on, with further targets and actions already in motion across packaging, suppliers, and people in the years ahead. Prime Status is not the finish line; rather, it confirms that the strategy is working.
