WE CARE by Westwing Collection — our Westwing Collection is becoming more sustainable
Munich, 15th November 2021. Westwing launches WE CARE by Westwing Collection, a collection made entirely out of selected sustainable materials. “We want to offer our customers products to create a home in which sustainability has a special place.” says Erasmia Kitou, Head of Sustainability at Westwing.
From big furniture like sofas and sideboards to smaller pieces like lamps and textiles, Westwing’s designers have created a timeless collection that is not just beautiful, but is also here to last. Its neutral colors and elegant shapes make the WE CARE by Westwing Collection melt seamlessly into any interior.
The main materials used for this collection have received a sustainability certification by some of the leading and most credible organizations in this field such as FSC, GOTS, and GRS. The Collection includes:
- Furniture pieces made of wood from responsibly managed forests
- Textiles made of organic cotton
- Rugs made of minimum 50% recycled materials
- Boxspring beds certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel
- But also products made of natural fibers such as jute
Ale Tobler, Creative Director Westwing Collection: “Every step towards a more sustainable lifestyle is an important one. Our Westwing design team is working step by step on designing furniture and textiles that are even more environmentally and socially friendly. We’re happy to make a contribution through our WE CARE by Westwing Collection.”
For the Westwing Collection, Westwing only works with suppliers whose environmental and social performance is evaluated in accordance with internationally accepted standards (BSCI, SMETA, SA8000). The goal is to continue to strategically collaborate with suppliers who source sustainable raw materials, who care about sustainability as much as Westwing does and with whom the company can successfully embark on the sustainability journey.
